If you decide to lose weight or remain physically fit, the most important priority is setting a goal for yourself. While setting a goal, always remember to make it achievable and attainable otherwise you may lose track and meander away. There are a lot of ideas to help you to stay fit that are not so challenging and are quite doable. To be sure you remain fit, you have to set goals either on a weekly, monthly or daily basis. Also remember to keep a record of how well you are doing and how close you are to the attainable goal, so you can motivate yourself even more. So whether you want to lose a couple of pounds, fit into that smaller sized dress or just remain fit, the first thing to do is to make sure you commit to the goals that you have set for yourself.
Here are some fitness goal ideas that will help you remain fit.
Strength Training goals: If you plan to focus on your overall muscular strength, then set some strength-training exercise goals for yourself. Start by lifting weights once or twice a week, then increase it to thrice a week and simultaneously keep adding pounds to the load on the weights. If your goal is to increase upper body strength, maintain short-term weekly goals and keep a track on how well you are achieving them. By being consistent, your time and effort will not go to waste.
Cardiovascular exercises: To set long-term cardiovascular goals, it is important to know how fit you are and the quantum of fitness you want to achieve. If you aim to take part in a marathon in the long run or in any outdoor fitness regime like mountain climbing, it is important to set short-term goals like walking everyday for half an hour to achieve the long-term goal. So schedule a cardiovascular exercise program that you can monitor everyday and record your progress. Then you can increase the duration and intensity in the next short-term goal and achieve the long-term goal.
Pull-ups: Pull-ups are a great exercise to stay fit and can be done at home or even in the office. All you have to do is buy a pull-up bar and as it is portable, carry it where ever you go. Set a goal of how many pull-ups you can do in a day and then gradually increase it. Pull-ups are good for the back and shoulders. So if you are good at pull-ups, why not set this as a fitness goal and succeed in achieving positive results?
Exercises from office or home: If you are a stay at home mom or if you are workaholic then there are still some fitness ideas that you can implement everyday no matter where you are. The goals could be as simple as taking the stairs everyday instead of the elevator or doing squats at home. The important thing to know is that once you set this goal, you have to commit to it regularly; otherwise your effort will be a waste. All you need is endurance and persistence to maintain these goals.
There are many fitness exercises you can do while sitting on your seat at work, or while even watching TV. For instance while watching TV, don't just sit but do some small exercises like jogging on the spot, or while in the office, practice some yoga. These ideas are highly measurable and will help you to remain fit if you do not have the time otherwise to workout.
You do not have to go to the gym or follow a hectic workout regime. To stay fit all you need is to set aside goals and accomplish them with resistance and perseverance.
